Our team combines skilled traditional Chinese medicine physicians with emergency Western medicine doctors to form a professional integrated emergency Chinese-Western medicine team dedicated to providing comprehensive and diverse emergency medical services.

The Chinese medicine medical team consists of 12 attending physicians, including 2 professors approved by the Ministry of Education and 1 assistant professor. Additionally, there are 19 resident physicians, 10 medical interns, and 19 nursing staff (including 1 head nurse, 13 nurses, and 5 nursing assistants). The Chinese medicine team has extensive clinical experience and integrates education and research resources to fully protect the health of the people in Eastern Taiwan.

Members of the Chinese medicine department also actively participate in major medical associations as directors or members, ensuring the professionalism and quality of service of the team. Additionally, there are 2 research assistants and 3 administrative staff supporting the operations and development of the Chinese medicine department.

The emergency department medical team consists of 13 attending physicians covering specialties such as surgery, toxicology, and emergency and disaster medicine, all with extensive experience in handling critical emergencies. As the only medical center in the Hualien-Taitung area, Hualien Tzu Chi Hospital also serves as the regional referral hospital, undertaking the treatment of a large number of critically ill patients.

The emergency department works closely with the Chinese medicine department through the integrated Chinese-Western medicine model to achieve patient-oriented medical service goals, ensuring each patient receives the most suitable comprehensive treatment.

Vice President: Responsible for coordinating the operation of integrated emergency Chinese-Western medicine, formulating strategies and decisions to ensure optimal treatment in emergencies.

Chinese Medicine Physician Team

Director or Deputy Director of Chinese Medicine: In charge of integrating Chinese herbal medicine and acupuncture therapies, working closely with emergency Western medicine doctors to enhance treatment effectiveness and promote patient recovery.
Specialized Divisions: Includes Chinese internal medicine, acupuncture, gynecology, traumatology, and pediatrics, covering the multiple specialties required for emergency care.

Emergency Team

Director of Emergency Services: Coordinates emergency services to enable the team to respond swiftly to emergencies, working closely with the Chinese medicine team to provide integrated treatment.
Specialized Divisions: Emergency medicine, disaster medicine, and trauma medicine, focusing on the immediate diagnosis and treatment of critically ill patients.

Nursing Team

Western medicine nurses and specialist nurses: Assist in patient recovery, working closely with Chinese and Western medicine physicians and nurses to provide comprehensive postoperative care.

Research and Development

Clinical Research Team: Responsible for guiding clinical studies on the effectiveness of integrated emergency Chinese-Western medicine, coordinating data collection and analysis, and supporting efficacy evaluations.

Administrative Team: Manages the overall team operations and external coordination, ensuring effective resource utilization and smooth operation of integrated emergency Chinese-Western medicine services.
